Michael Malatino, Esq. is an Associate with Deutsch Atkins & Kleinfeldt, P.C. A tenacious and dedicated advocate, Mr. Malatino has achieved numerous and substantial settlements on behalf of his clients in workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other employment related claims. Mr. Malatino also represents clients in matters involving employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, and restrictive covenants including non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.Mr. Malatino is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and its New Jersey subchapter. He is a Co-Chair of the Professionalism and Ethics Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section. He is a Staff Editor for the Labor and Employment Law Quarterly and a member of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court.

After law school, Mr. Malatino served as law clerk to the Hon. Kenneth J. Slomienski, J.S.C. in Bergen County from 2009 – 2010 and then as an associate with the Scotch Plains, New Jersey law firm of Breuninger and Fellman.

Mr. Malatino received his undergraduate degree from The College of New Jersey before graduating cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Malatino served as a judicial intern to both the Hon. W. Terrence O’Brien of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas and the Hon. Mary Jane Bowes of the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Mr. Malatino also assisted families with mortgage issues as a result of the 2008 housing crisis through the Urban League of the Greater Pittsburgh Area.

Mr. Malatino is a resident of Westwood, New Jersey and volunteers on the Borough’s Historic Preservation Commission.

Mr. Malatino is included in the Thomson Reuters list of New Jersey “Rising Stars” for 2018.
